To provide a voice signal band compression circuit that can provide high speech quality.
An adder circuit 20 sums signals as result of frequency division by a 1/2 frequency divider circuit 12 and a 1/4 frequency divider circuit 11. A band pass filter 24 extracts signals with frequencies fh/2-fh from the sum signal. An adder circuit 21 sums signals whose frequency is multiplied by a frequency double circuit 13 and a frequency quadruple circuit 14. A band pass filter 26 extracts signals with frequencies f1-2f1 from the output of the circuit 21. An adder circuit 23 sums outputs of band pass filters 24, 25, 26 and provides an output of a signal with frequency bands f1-fh where high frequency components are integrated to the frequency bands fh/2-fh and low frequency components are integrated to the frequency bands f1-2f1.
