Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent tone quality deterioration due to phase deviation in the case of sine wave synthesis.
SOLUTION: In a speech synthesis using the sign wave synthesis, when UV (unvoiced sound) frame is detected from voiced/unvoiced sound (V/UV) data which are decoded by a decoding part 33 and obtained by a UV frame detection circuit 39 through a bad frame masking processing part 34, and this UV frame is consecutive for more than two frames, the basic wave synthesized at speech synthesis part 37 and the phase of the higher harmonic waves are initialized to a prescribed initial value such as 0 or π/2. Thus, a phase arising between UV frames can be initialized at the starting point of the V frame and the synthesized sound can be prevented from tone quality deterioration caused by the phase deviation.
