To provide a miniaturizable volatile organic compound treatment apparatus with low running cost, high safety and high treating efficiency.
The volatile organic compound treatment apparatus 1 is provided with: a conductive heat generating body 20 with a communication hole for passing gas therethrough formed therein; electrodes 21a, 21b energizing the conductive heat generating body; a heating part 2 heating gas passing through the communication hole by heat generated by the conductive heat generating body by energizing; a catalyst body lowering the oxidative decomposition temperature of a volatile organic compound; and a catalyst part provided downstream of the gas passage from the heating part and oxidatively decomposing the volatile organic compound contained in the gas heated by the heating part. The heating part includes: a metal layer 23 integrally laminated on an end face of the conductive heat generating body of the electrode side by solidifying a molten metal; and a steel wool layer 22 as a conductive elastic body set between the metal layer and electrode.
