PURPOSE: To provide the voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) which can suppress sprious by constituting the VCO by connecting a coaxial dielectric resonator provided with a non-uniform characteristic impedance to a driving circuit.
CONSTITUTION: This VCO is constituted by connecting a resonance element 211 provided with the non-uniform characteristic impedance through a coupling capacity 212 to the driving circuit composed of a transistor 213, feedback capacitors 214 and 215 and varactor diode. Thus, since the impedance of a line is not uniform and the driving circuit connects the coaxial dielectric resonator enabling three-times or five-times higher-order resonance frequency control to a basic frequency, the unwanted osicillation at the three-times or five-times frequency as high as the basic frequency can be suppressed.
