To provide a volume controller for an on-vehicle apparatus capable of performing volume control according to a changeover factor which a user desires.

This apparatus is provided with a program reservation function for reserving a program by a timer function, and has a control means 4 which performs program reservation or various settings by an operating means 10, and a volume control means 6 which performs volume control by the control means 4. When input sources are changed by the operating means 10, the volume means 6 is so controlled that sound may be output by a volume set beforehand by the user after being controlled into a silent state. Since the volume means 6 is so controlled that the sound volume gradually increases up to the volume value set beforehand by the user after being controlled into a silent state, when input sources are changed owing to program reservation or various interruptions, a sound of large volume is prevented from being output from a speaker 7, even if the input sources are changed by the program reservation or various interruptions.
