PURPOSE: To make possible effective volume control in a wide range by installing a shaft coupling which forms a linkage state by utilizing the bypass gas formed by the operation of a compressor in a small air flow through surging limit and installing a turbine for dranwing back power.
CONSTITUTION: When surging limits S and S' are attained in the operation of a compressor, a control valve 11 is opened according to the gas pressure and temperature at that time, and a portion of the gas in low temperature, of which feeding amount is controlled, is introduced into a shaft coupling 6 and a power recovering turbine 7 through a pipe 8. When the gas in low temperature flows into the casing 12 of the shaft coupling 6, the liquid in a liquid sealing part 15 freezes, and the volume increases, and the outside 14b inner surface of a U-figure shaped element 14 contacts a disc 13, and a compressor 1a and a turbine shaft 7a are brought to a linked state. On the other hand, the turbine rotor is revolved by the high pressure gas in low temperature introduced into the power recovering turbine 7 and the high pressure gas through the shaft coupling 6, and power is generated effectively
