Title:
VOLUME REDUCING METHOD OF DREDGED MATERIAL STORED IN RECESS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000144797
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To minimize the installation of recesses, in which a dredged material is stored, by introducing moisture in the dredged material onto a ground through a drain column and applying impulse force by dropping a weight onto a surface or applying vibrations to the drain column.

The recess is formed by excavating a ground 16. Soil and sand or the like dredged from the sea bottom under an intake are used as a dredged material 12, and collected and stored successively into the recess 10. Drain columns 14 are mounted mutually at intervals. Steel sheet piles 18 are composed of sheet pile bodies 20 and channel steel 24, a plurality of openings communicated with passages 22 are formed, and moisture in the dredged material 12 is introduced into the passages 22 through the openings, and guided onto the ground. A weight 34 is dropped onto the surface 31 of the dredged material 12 and impulse force is given. A method, in which a vibration exciter 40 is fitted at the top section of the drain column 14 and operated, or a method, in which a vibrator or the like such as a tamper is worked and vibrations are given to the surface 31, may also be used for giving impulse force. Accordingly the bulk of the dredge material 12 is lowered largely, and a large quantity of the dredge materials can further be stored in the recess 10.
