To provide a volume reduction apparatus that is capable of enhancing a volume reduction efficiency by surely carrying out the descending feed of a material to be treated supplied from a feed hopper at the upper part of a cylinder into a volume reduced gap.
The volume reduction apparatus is provided with a driving part and a volume reduction part that is driven by the driving part.The volume reduction part comprises a rotor that is rotatively driven by the driving part and a cylinder that stores the rotor, wherein the many crushed grooves are scored in the inner periphery of the cylinder at up and down direction. The volume reduction gap to reduce a volume of the material to be treated is formed between the rotor and the cylinder at the bottom part, wherein a vane for sweeping is formed in the rotor. The inclined angle of the side part of the blade for sweeping at the profile is set to become a larger angle at the feeding part side in the upper part and is set to become a smaller angle at the side of the volume reduction gap in the lower part so that it is approximately contacted along with the inner periphery of the cylinder.
