Abstract:
To provide a volume reduction and dechlorination apparatus capable of separating and removing chlorine from plastic waste containing chlorine, and reducing volume of the plastic waste.SOLUTION: A batch volume reduction and dechlorination apparatus (1) for chlorine-containing plastic waste includes: a volume-reduction unit (2) for chlorine-containing plastic waste; a chlorine treatment unit (3) converting chlorine gas to hydrochloric acid; and a connecting pipe (25) for these. The volume-reduction unit (2) is provided with: a treatment vessel for housing the chlorine-containing plastic waste; an outside vessel being an outside vessel (5) forming a space between itself and the treatment vessel, and for housing the treatment vessel, and having an introducing port (6) for introducing the chlorine-containing plastic waste into the treatment vessel; a chlorine gas discharge port (12); and a heat source for supplying heat into the treatment vessel. The chlorine treatment unit (3) is movable together with the volume-reduction unit (2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
