Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vortex flow blower improved in leakage, as efficiency is degraded when leakage occurs from a high pressure region of a housing to a low pressure region in the vortex flow blower.SOLUTION: A vortex flow bower 10 includes an annular housing assembly 12 surrounding a rotating impeller 11, and defines an annular flow channel 24, an inlet 25 receiving a fluid into the annular flow channel, an outlet 26 releasing the fluid from the annular flow channel, a low fluid pressure region 50 at an inlet side, and a high fluid pressure region 51 at an outlet side. An uneven ring-shaped tongue portion 110 and a ring groove 111 are formed between the impeller and the housing assembly, and a seal function by non-contact mutual action between concentric surface shapes is achieved by the ring portions engaged with each other. According to this constitution, flowing of the fluid from the high fluid pressure region of the annular flow channel to the low fluid pressure region of the annular flow channel is restricted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
