Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the characteristic of vortex flow pump by forming a swirl flow more effectively in a circular annular flow path.
CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary supply path 14 for supplying an assist flow of guiding fluid in a direction of forming a swirl flow is provided relating to the fluid of inflow from a suction port 6a, connected to a circular annular flow path, by rotating an impeller 1 arranged in the circular annular flow path. In this way, since the fluid of tending to turbulently flow in the vicinity of the suction port is dragged by the assist flow and guided in a swirl direction, the swirl flow is effectively formed, and thus improvement of a characteristic can be accomplished.
