To provide a wadding which enables minimizing of the twisting thereof as caused by the use or washing thereof and hinders the bulging out thereof without lowering the degree of breathing of a side fabric by making the texture thereof similar to a futon mat employing a silicone finished fiber as wadding.

The wadding for a futon mat comprises a nonwoven fabric having a web thermally heated. The web contains a low-melting point fiber (A) and other fibers (B) and the low melting point fiber (A) has low melting point components with the melting point thereof lower by 20° or more than that of the other fibers (B) on the surface thereof and is given the content of 3 to 50 wt.%. Silicone is applied to the fibers.
