To recognize the status of walk relative to a destination in real time with good accuracy by only a simple setting.
This instrument is provided with a RAM 2, a CPU 1, a display part 4, a clock part 6, and an operation/input part 3. The CPU 1 calculates the number of integrated steps by counting the number of steps from a starting position after the operation of input setting is completed and further calculates time per step based on the time TN clocked by the clock part 6 and taken to advance a preset number N of steps, and the obtained results are stored one after another in a prescribed area of the RAM 2. When a display selection button 3a is pressed, the CPU 1 executes prescribed processing and computation, causing the display part 4 to display one of the following according to an indication: the present hour, integrated number of steps, walked distance, remaining distance from the present position to the destination, time to be taken to walk from the present position to the destination, and estimated arrival time.
