PURPOSE: To prevent the inadvertent contact of a body to an operating part by vibration and the like, by rotatably providing a cover so that it can covers the operating part with protruded parts of a case as supporting points.

CONSTITUTION: On the upper surface of a case 2, a display part 3 which displays number of steps, distance, time, and the like, is provided. An operating part 21, which has a pace setting knob 7 and a mode changing knob 8, which changes the indication of the number of steps, distance, and the like or modes of function, is also provided thereon. From the end part of a cover 6, which covers the operating part 21, a pair of arms 39 and 39 are protruded so that they are hinged with protruded parts 37A and 37B which are protruded from both side surfaces of the case 2. The cover 6 is rotatably provided so that it covers the operating part 21, with the protruded parts 37A and 37B of the case 2 as support ing points. In this way, the body is not inadvertently contacted with the operating parts 21 by vibration and the like, when the meter is put on clothes for use.
