To provide a walking type working machine free from error operation in order to solve problems in which when other walking type working machine having same constitution and action exists in the neighborhood of the walking type tiller, infrared ray transmitted from transmission part of a walking type tiller B is received to a receiving part of a walking type tiller A and error operation of the walking type working machine occurs against one's will of the worker.

The walking type working machine has a handle 20 equipped with a clutch switch (operating means) 23 for operating driving of a motor (a driving part) and a case 17 in which a controlling part for controlling driving of the motor is built, wherein the handle 20 and the case 17 are arranged at intervals. A transmitting part 24a for transmitting laser beam (electromagnetic wave) LB by operating a clutch switch 23 is provided in the handle 20 and a receiving part 50 for receiving laser beam LB is provided in the case 17 and a controlling part drives the motor by laser beam LB which the receiving part 50 received and performs operation. The receiving part 50 has directional characteristics so as to receive only laser beam LB.
