PURPOSE: To prevent reduction in operating efficiency of weaving machine by malfunction by selectively actuating a joint feeler or not depending upon content of color signal when yarn signal is inputted from the joint feeler in a feeler control device.

CONSTITUTION: In a weft detection of multi-color weft inserting weaving machine containing stretchable weft, besides a common feeler set at a normal position to which a tip of weft reaches, further a joint feeler arranged at the outside, a weft selector to output color signal and a timing signal generator to output a detection timing signal are connected to an input side of a feeler control device. In the feeler control device, when a yarn signal is inputted from the joint feeler, the joint feeler is selectively actuated or not depending upon content of color signal, namely extension of stretch weft or joint of other weft or stopping signal of weaving machine is selectively outputted.
