PURPOSE: To prevent water from being splashed and improve the ease of use by employing shield plates for shielding both sides of a wash table which shield plates are capable of being stowed into the main body of a dressing table by a user while the user remains in a seated attitude.
CONSTITUTION: When the apparatus is used as a dressing table, the top plate 13 is folded and closed. When it is used as a wash stand for washing hair or face, the top plate 13 is erected and opened, shield plates 33, 34 are extended to project and a water splash receiving tray 35 is drawn out. With this constitution, the top surface height of the main body 10 of the dressing table when the apparatus is used as a dressing table is approximately equal to the height of the wash stand 32 when the apparatus is used as a wash stand with the top plate open and with the wash stand 32 exposed, improving the ease of use. Because both sides of the wash stand 32 are shielded with the shield plates 33, 34 when the top plate 13 is open, water splash is prevented from flying and wetting the room at the time of face washing. A water splash receiving tray 35 is placed also in front of the washing bowl 28 to further prevent water splash.
