PURPOSE: To reduce the water consumption and heating energy of water of a titled installation by installing a rinsing and cooling vessel provided with a circuit for detecting the temps. of a steel strip or washing water and operating the rate of supply of thermal energy in combination with a chemical conversion treatment vessel.
CONSTITUTION: A chemical conversion treatment vessel 5 and a rinsing and cooling vessel 6 are installed in combination, and a steel strip S is transferred in an arrow direction via deflector rolls 10-1, 10-2, 10-3 and wringer rolls 11-1, 11-2. The vessel 6 has a water flow rate control system 21 and a water temp. control system 21 is provided with nozzles 14 opposite to the steel strip S and supplies fresh water by setting a water flow rate valve 13 to a prescribed rate. On the other hand, the system 20 has a steam control valve 19, and controls the valve 19 by means of an operator 18 inputted with the temp. measuring values from a water temp. detect- ing end 17 or a steel temp. detecting end 16. In this way, the washing of the steel strip is accomplished by the system 21 and at the same time, the steel strip tempnecessary for the next process is assured by the system 20.
