PURPOSE: To prevent a humidity sensor from being submerged at the time of washing clothes, to prevent a foreign matter from adhering to the surface of a sensor, and to improve the detection accuracy and the service life of a humidity sensor.

CONSTITUTION: A main body section consisting of an outer tub 12 and an inner tub is constructed in freely turnable from the vertical state to the horizontal state. The machine is provided with a drying unit 50 consisting of a heating section and a blowing section. The drying unit 50 is fixed to an outer frame 1. The washing/drying device formed with a circulating path of the hot air by connecting between the respective hot air intake/outlet ports of the drying unit 50 and the main body section with flexible ducts 65 and 68 is provided with a humidity sensor 90 on a wind path connecting a fan suction port 58 of the blower section and the heating section in the drying unit 50 at the circulating path. The position of the sensor 90 is set behind a lint filter 59 which is installed on the fan suction port 58.
