To omit the process of fabricating a grip material separately and reduce the manufacturing costs by preparing a washing implement from a cloth cover formed in a cylinder with two ends left open and a core consisting of sponge, etc., to be encapsulated inside the cloth cover, sewing together the two ends of the cloth cover on the side with oversurface.
A core 1 in approx. rectangular shape consisting of sponge as a material having an ample water absorptiveness and resilience is covered with a cloth cover 2 consisting of pile knit material, and a grip 3 is provided on the surface of the cover 2 so that a washing implement is constructed. At this time, the cover 2 is made in a round knit while the knitting structure is made in a pile knit so that a cylindrical shape is accomplished whose two ends are left open. This core 1 is inserted into the cover 2 from one end, and the surplus portions 3a and 3b at the ends of the cover 2 are folded to the front, and the cover ends are sewn together at one end on the side with cover front. Thereby the end openings of the cover 2 are closed, and the core 1 is encapsulated inside the cover 2, and the grip 3 to admit insertion of hand is formed on the front, and thus a washing implement fitted with grip 3 is completed.
