To be able to perform injection of a magnetic viscous fluid efficiently and more securely.
A dumper mechanism of a washing machine includes: a cylinder; a shaft reciprocally relatively movable in a shaft direction with respect to the cylinder; a magnetic field generator disposed in the cylinder so as to form a clearance around an outer periphery of the shaft; a sealing member mounted so as to close both outer end portions in the shaft direction of the clearance to form a hollow housing portion between the magnetic field generator and the shaft; and a magnetic viscous fluid filled in the housing portion. The magnetic field generator includes: a bobbin; a coil wound around an outer periphery of the bobbin; and yokes disposed at both end portions of the bobbin in the shaft direction. The magnetic viscous fluid is injected into the housing portion from the clearance between the yoke positioned outside the magnetic field generator and the shaft, before an outside seal member is mounted in assembling of the dumper mechanism. A large clearance-forming portion is provided in a first shaft insertion hole of the bobbin into which the shaft is inserted so that a clearance between the bobbin and the shaft partially becomes large in a circumferential direction.
