Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the effect of washing while preventing damage to delicate clothing when washing the delicate clothing.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a vertical axis type washing tub on the inner bottom part of which an agitator is arranged; a pump chamber formed on the bottom part of the washing tub by providing the rear face of the agitator with a pump vane; water passages which are provided on the side wall part of the washing tub so as to be vertically extended, and through which washing water from the pump chamber is pumped up and sprinkled from discharge ports into the washing tub; control means for controlling the rotation of the agitator; and a partition plate which includes water passage holes for passing the washing water therethrough in the outer peripheral part thereof, and which is located above the agitator and below the discharge ports and detachably mounted in the washing tub. In the washing machine, a delicate course can be executed such that washing is carried out while clothing is placed on the partition plate mounted in the washing tub. In the delicate course, the control means drives the agitator in accordance with a first driving time in which an ON time in the repetition cycle of the normal rotation and reverse rotation of the agitator is made longer than that in a standard course without using the partition plate.
