To enhance washing efficiency, lessen damages to a laundry cloth and quickly dissolve a detergent by providing a jet nozzle above the level of wash water supplied to a washing tub in such a state as directed toward the water level, and generating a wash water flow in the washing tub with a jet from the jet nozzle.

A motor 5 is laid under a washing tub 4 housed in a water receiving tank 3, and jet nozzles 6a, 6b, 7a and 7b are arranged on the upper end part of the water receiving tank 3. In addition, wash water contained in the washing tub 4 is jetted from the jet nozzles 6a to 7b on the operation of a pump 8. Also, a discharge hose 24 as well as a conduit tube 25 is connected to the delivery piping 22 of the pump 8 through a motor-driven three-way selector valve 23. Furthermore, the jet nozzles 6a and 7a are kept in such a state as faced to each other, while the jet nozzles 6b and 7b are as well kept faced to each other. Also, the jet nozzles 6a and 6b, and the jet nozzles 7a and 7b are arranged in a linear symmetrical way about the cylindrical center of the washing tub 4 as an axis. In this case, the jet nozzles 6a to 7b are laid so as to be faced to a slantwise downward direction, with the ends projected from the internal surface of the upper end part of the water receiving tank 3.
