In this washing method of animal and plant residue processing unit by hydrothermal reaction, animal and plant residue mixed with water is pressurized and heated to subcritical state and make it have a hydrothermal reaction at a hydrothermal reaction tube 25, the decomposed substance of the residue which is decomposed in the hydrothermal reaction tube 25 and reduced in its pressure is oxidized in an oxidation tank 22, and the carbonized matter or the like adhered to the tube walls of the hydrothermal reaction tube 25 is removed by the hydrothermal reaction and oxidation. After supplying the high temperature and high pressure washing water which is mixed with an alkali water solution and air to the hydrothermal reaction tube 25, it is supplied to the oxidation tank 22 and removes the carbonized matter adhered to the tube wall of hydrothermal reaction tool 25 and the oxidation tank 22.
