Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the consumption of the washing liquid to be used for auxiliary washing for washing a rotary atomizing head and to shorten the washing time in the washing method for an electrostatic coater.
CONSTITUTION: A thinner S0 for residual washing is made to remain within a washing piping 15 of a washing passage 17 after the end of the auxiliary washing stage consisting of a washing liquid supply stage, rotary atomizing head washing stage, washing liquid suction stage and washing liquid discharge stage. As a result, the supply amt. of the thinner to be supplied from a thinner supply valve 3 to a washing passage 17 is reduced in the washing liquid supply stage. Further, an air supply valve 35 opens at the time of the rotary atomizing head washing stage and the washing liquid discharge stage and, therefore, the operation to discharge and drain the thinner by the pressure of air is speeded up and the time of the respective stages is shortened. The auxiliary washing stage is thus executed in a short period of time.
