To regenerate a waste cleaning fluid with high efficiency using an electrostatic field and enhance practicability, with regard to a waste fluid regeneration device of a printer and a waste fluid regeneration method.
This waste fluid regeneration device comprises a waste fluid storage container 80, a waste fluid regeneration container 75 for regenerating a waste fluid, a metallic electrode plates 30a and 30b to which voltage is applied by enabling circulation of the waste fluid, arranged in the waste fluid regeneration container 75, a water recovery container 90 for recovering the separated regenerated water, provided below the metallic electrode plats 30a and 30b, a grounded electrode 8 connected to the water recovery container 90, a regenerated fluid storage tank 70 for recovering the separated regenerated cleaning fluid, a filter container 101 internally incorporating an ink pigment recovery filter 100, arranged below the water recovery container 90 and a recovered water storage container 91 for storing the regenerated water in the water recovery container 90. The waste fluid is regenerated using the regenerated water energized with the grounded electrode 8 in the water recovery container 90 as a grounding side electrode and an electrostatic field between the metallic electrode plates 30a and 30b.
