To enable safe conveying of waste fluorescent tubes, including straight and circular ones, in a stable posture from the charging section to the crushing section and conveying straight and circular tubes with a common conveyer.
A waste fluorescent tube crusher includes a straight tube charging section 2, a circular tube charging section 3, a conveyer receiving straight and circular tubes from the charging sections 2 and 3, respectively, and conveying next and a crushing unit 6 crushing individual waste fluorescent tubes A and B discharged from the end portion of the conveyer. The conveyer uses an apron conveyer 4 in which a large number of apron plates 42 are circulated. Two or more engaging protrusions 5 capable of holding straight tubes A sideways are arranged at specified intervals on individual apron plates 42, and at least one of the individual engaging protrusions 5 is so structured as to hook a circular tube B from the circular tube charging section 3 and hold in order to convey individual waste fluorescent tubes, including straight and circular ones, safely to the crushing section and enable common use of a single conveyer, or apron conveyer 4, for conveying of straight and circular tubes.
