Abstract:
To save on the usage of coke in a shaft type waste melting furnace using the coke as a melting heat source, by improving the heat exchanger effectiveness.
In the shaft type waste melting furnace, the inside diameter of the furnace around a blast tuyere for blowing air or oxygen-enriched air to burn a coke bed formed in the furnace bottom is set so that superficial velocity (LV) of the air is 0.4-0.6 Nm/s. In this case, since the heat exchanger effectiveness is improved without enlargement of a burning area, melting of ash is performed with a small coke bed. Consequently, the usage of the coke is significantly reduced.
