Furnace wall structure employing refractory containing chromeia and the structure of a heater applied with a surface protective film are shown. The furnace wall structure is formed by powering alumina/chromia based refractory 10 principally comprising Al2O3-Cr2O3. Subsequently, strength of the refractory is enhanced by heating. The refractory constructs a furnace body through an anchor 11 provided for an induction heating coil principally comprising aggregates of Al2O3 of large, intermediate and fine grain size. The heater and a discharge opening employs graphite 12 as basic material and the surface thereof is coated with a protective film 3 of ZrB2. The ZrB2 film is formed by spraying and the thickness is controlled to 1 mm or less.
