To provide a waste melting treatment method and a waste melting treatment furnace capable of reducing scattering of furnace dry distillation residue by inhibiting fluidization of the furnace dry distillation residue, being stably operated by improving combustion performance, and miniaturizing an exhaust gas treatment system.
In this waste melting treatment method where wastes and massive carbonaceous combustible substance are charged from a furnace upper portion of this waste melting treatment furnace 1, an oxygen source is supplied from tuyere 8 arranged in a plurality of stages in a furnace body, ash and unburnt materials in the waste melted by reaction heat are discharged from a discharge hole of a furnace bottom portion, and a filling layer is formed in the furnace where a gas generated by incomplete combustion is discharged from the furnace upper portion, a void tower speed in the furnace is controlled in accordance with particle sizes of the wastes forming the filling layer. The void tower speed is determined to be 0.15-1.0 Nm/sec in accordance with the particle size of the filling layer, and the void tower speed is determined to be 0.15-1.0 Nm/sec at a part A immediately above the lowermost tuyere.
