A storage container (1) of waste paper (3) comprises a bottom plate (5), a first side plate (7), a second side plate (9), a third side plate (11) and a fourth side plate (13). A string delivery means (15) is provided below the bottom plate, a string (17) delivered from the string delivery means is led to a predetermined position at the first to fourth side plates and the bottom plate in advance. The string is cut at a first portion (17b) located on an upper edge of the first side plate during the packing, a second portion (17c) of the string located on an upper edge (9d) of the second side plate and an upper edge (11a) of the third side plate is pulled onto an upper side of the waste paper in the storage container. A third portion (17d) hanging from an upper edge center portion (13c) of the fourth side plate inside the storage container is bound to the second portion of the string and a cut end (17b') of the first portion.
