The waste treatment equipment 1 includes: a heating means 2 heating waste such as sludge in a low oxygen state to sterilize and dry the waste and progressing pyrolytic reaction to separate into and generate carbide and exhaust gas; a liquefaction means 3 cooling the exhaust gas generated by the heating means 2 and liquefying and recovering oil components included in the exhaust gas; and a purification means 4 decomposing the exhaust gas from which the oil components have been recovered to render the exhaust gas harmless. The liquefaction means 3 includes a back-flow prevention mechanism 55 emitting the exhaust gas supplied from the heating means 2 in stored cooling water to prevent back-flow of the exhaust gas.
