To solve a problem that when the dry distillation gas generated from waste is much a catalyst part becomes high in temperature to becomes easy to deteriorate and a necessary amount or more of energy has been used in the heating of the catalyst part, in a waste treatment apparatus.
When the oxidation reaction of gas is started in the catalyst part 26, heat is generated corresponding to the amount of the generated gas and the temperature of the catalyst part 26 is raised and the output of a temperature measuring means 28 is increased. Since the heating quantity to the catalyst part 26 by a catalyst heating means 27 is controlled so as to be reduced corresponding to this output, the catalyst part 26 is not excessively raised in its temperature and the deterioration of the catalyst part 26 can be prevented. The operation cost of the catalyst heating means 27 is reduced by the reduced quantity of the output of the catalyst heating means 27 to realize energy saving.
