Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the melting speed of carbonized residue including unburnt carbon and self combustion characteristic by providing a steam supply mechanism for supplying steam to the carbonized residue so as to treat a part of the carbonized recidue under a water gas reaction with the steam.
SOLUTION: A surface melting furnace R is provided with air supply mechanism K for blowing and supplying combustion air 11 to carbonized residue 6 charged in a combustion chamber 5 and steam supply mechanisms H for supplying steam 12 to the carbonized residue 6 as well as a burner 8 provide on a ceiling part 1. When waste to be subjected to a combustion treatment has a self combustion characteristic as the carbonized residue 6, the carbonized residue 6 can be subjected to the combustion treatment only by supplying the combustion air 11 to the carbonized residue 6 whose temperature is raised by the combustion burner 8. Further, a water gas reaction is generated between the steam 12 and a carbon component by the steam supply mechanism H, so that the treatment efficiency of the carbon component included in the carbonized residue 6 is improved.
