Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste water treating method capable of cleaning waste water over a long period of time and stably by effectively regenerating a solid catalyst deteriorated in oxidation/decomposition activity in the case when the waste water containing organic and/or inorganic oxidizable material is subjected to oxidation/decomposition treatment at a treating temperature below 170°C and under a pressure at which the waste water keeps the liquid phase, which are relatively low temperature/low pressure, by using a solid catalyst containing activated carbon.
SOLUTION: In the waste water treating method in which the waste water containing the organic and/or the inorganic oxidizable material is subjected to oxidation and/or oxidative decomposition by using the catalyst, the waste water is treated while supplying oxygen-containing gas by using the solid catalyst at a treating temperature of ≥50°C and below 170°C and under a pressure at which the waste water keeps the liquid phase. A catalyst regenerating solution containing a readily decomposable oxidizable material is also supplied to the solid catalyst, and the device is operated at a temperature of ≥55°C and below 200°C while regenerating the solid catalyst.
