Waste water discharged from the terminal discharge opening of individual dental chair units is stored in a sterilizing chamber. The chamber is equipped with an acidic water-generating electrode and generates acidic water directly by electrolysis to sterilize the waste water, which is discharged outside. For this purpose, this apparatus is arranged with a controller that controls the processes based on water level signals, pH values, the quantity of current applied to the electrode and the like. As a system, a system having a storage tank for temporarily storing waste water, a system for directly introducing waste water, or an overflow system is employed.
