To provide a waste water treatment method of suitably removing ammonia and a COD component in waste water, and waste water treatment equipment.
The waste water treatment method of treating the waste water containing ammonia and the COD component comprises carrying out a sludge treatment process of removing ammonia in the waste water by a nitrification reaction and a denitrification reaction with activated sludge, an ion exchange treatment process of bringing the waste water after this sludge treatment process into contact with a weak basic or a medium basic anion exchange resin after pH is adjusted at not less than 5 and less than 8.3, wherein ammonia can be removed from the waste water in the sludge treatment process and wherein the COD component not removed in the sludge treatment process can excellently be adsorbed and removed by the anion exchange resin in the ion exchange treatment process.
