To provide a cleaning apparatus capable of regenerating a flocculant to reutilize the same without supplying all amount of an acid/alkali solution and an operation method therefore, and a cleaning apparatus for recovering oil from recovered sludge to sterilize a pollutant and an operation method therefor.
A strong alkali solution and a strong acid solution are required in order to regenerate a flocculant from sludge by decomposing flocs. Seawater is electrolyzed to gather sodium ions and chloride ions on cathode and anode sides to form an acidic aqueous solution containing alkali water rich in sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid or the like along with hydroxy ions and hydrogen ions in seawater. Flocks in sludge is decomposed by the alkali solution. The pollutant is removed from the decomposed alkali aqueous solution and hydrochloric acid being the strong acidic aqueous solution is added to the acidic aqueous solution, from which the pollutant is separated and removed, to form an aqueous solution of ferric chloride. The aqueous solution of ferric chloride is a flocculant. By this constitution the flocculant is regenerated from received sludge.
