To provide a wastewater treatment apparatus which can effectively decompose organic substances by microorganisms.
Water to be treated is introduced from a filling material tank 1 having a filling material 37 into a settling tank 11 to be solid-liquid separated into microorganism-containing sludge and treated water. A part of the treated water from the settling tank 11 is introduced into a micro-nano bubble generation tank 43, allowing the treated water to contain micro-nano bubbles, which produces micro-nano bubble-containing water. The micro-nano bubble-containing water from the micro-nano bubble generation tank 43 and the sludge from the settling tank 11 are introduced into a microorganism activation tank 33, allowing the micro-nano bubbles to adhere to microorganisms in the sludge, which activates the microorganisms by the micro-nano bubbles. The micro-nano bubble-containing water and the sludge are introduced from the microorganism activation tank 33 into the filling material tank 1, allowing the microorganisms activated by the micro-nano bubbles to adhere to the filling material 37, which decomposes organic substances in the water to be treated.
