Title:
WATER-ABSORBING CLOTH FOR LAVER NET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03180126
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve workability on the preparation of a laver seed net without the generation of dusts and the injury of laver buds by employing a non-woven fabric containing water-absorbing fibers and thermally fusing fibers.

CONSTITUTION: 95-50% of water-absorbing fibers (e.g. PVA) each having a fineness of 2-30 denier and 5-50% of thermally fusing fibers (e.g. PP) each having a fineness of 2-30 denier are blended with each other and formed into an non- woven fabric having a weight of 30-250g/m2, a porosity of 99.5-50% and a thickness of 1-20mm. A water-absorbing cloth for laver nets comprises the non-woven fabric. The water-absorbing cloth is interposed between dehydrated seed nets, folded, placed in a bag for the laver net and subsequently frozen and stored for a long period at -15 to -35°C after the closure of the opening of the bag, the seed nets being prepared by placing the laver spore-attached nets in sea water until the leaves of the laver grow to lengths of 0.5 to 100mm.
