To obtain the subject composition capable of affording a composite material resistant to fine water droplet adherence thereto, therefore having surface developing no dew condensation by including an inorganic alkoxide, a water-absorbing organic polymer, a catalyst and a hydrous organic solvent.
This composition comprises (A) at least one kind among inorganic alkoxides and the corresponding OH group-contg. polymers formed by hydrolysis and polycondensation of the above alkoxides, (B) a water- absorbing organic polymer (pref. ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer or the like), (C) a catalyst (pref. hydrolysis catalyst and curing catalyst), and (D) a hydrous organic solvent, and pref. furthermore, (E) a hydrophilic group-contg. fluorine- based surfactant and a heat storage agent. The other objective water-absorbing composite material is obtained by coating a base material with this composition followed by drying and then heat treatment; this composite material is effectively used in sanitary rooms such as bathrooms, rest rooms and washrooms.
