Abstract:
To provide a safe water-absorbing composition having both of biodegradability and deodorant property, hardly causing rash or the like on the skin when used as a hygienic good such as a paper diaper.
The water-absorbing composition contains (A) a crosslinked product of a water-soluble cellulose derivative having a carboxy group and (B) one or more of polymers obtained by polymerizing polymerizable compounds selected from the group consisting of lysine acrylamide, ornithine acrylamide, lysine methacrylamide, ornithine methacrylamide and 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine regulated so that the proportion of the polymer is 5-15 wt.% based on the whole weight of the composition.
