PURPOSE: To obtain the title sheet excellent in liquid absorptive characteristics, safety, mechanical strength and hygiene by laminating the surface (s) of a nonwoven fabric layer consisting a blend of highly water-absorptive fiber and heat-fusible fiber with a second nonwoven fabric layer consisting of heat-fusible fiber.

CONSTITUTION: The objective sheet can be obtained by laminating (A) one or both of the surfaces of a nonwoven fabric layer A consisting of a blend of (1) highly water-absorptive fiber (e.g. produced by carboxymethylation of polynosic fiber) and (2) heat-fusible fiber (e.g. conjugate fiber made up of core, a high-melting component such as polyethylene terephthalate and sheath, a low-melting point such as copolyester) at the weight ratio (1)/(2)=(70:30)-(10:90) with (B) a second nonwoven fabric layer B consisting of heat-fusible fiber.
