To provide a water absorption tape capable of following a swelling shrinkage of a cable core conductor having an excellent cushioning property and a water-stop property.
(1) In a water absorption tape in which an elastomer layer containing a hygroscopic polymer is provided on one surface of a sheet, a rubber layer having a thickness (b) of 0.2 mm or more is provided on the other surface and a compression set of a rubber of the rubber layer is made to 20% or less. (2) The sheet is formed by a leno cloth or a knitting mesh knit. (3) When the thickness of the sheet is (a) mm and the thickness of the rubber layer is (b) mm, a relationship of 0.7<b/a is satisfied. (4) An aperture cover cloth is provided on the elastomer layer. (5) The sheet is formed by a cloth or a knit having a cover coefficient (c)=0.2-0.8.
