Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a novel high polymer useful as a light screening material, etc., having a specific repeating unit and a specific intrinsic viscosity, reversibly water-soluble, alcohol-insoluble in a low-temperature range and water-insoluble, alcohol-soluble in a high-temperature range,, by radically polymerizing a specific vinyl compound.

CONSTITUTION: A vinyl compound shown by formula I is radically polymerized to give the aimed high polymer compound which consists of a repeating unit shown by formula II, has molecular weight corresponding to 0.01W6.0 intrinsic viscosity [η] at 27°C and is useful as temperature sensor, adsorbent for surface active agent, toy, interior, printing agent, display, separating membrane and mechanochemical element material.
