Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the coating compsn. which forms a coating film excellent in adhesive properties, water resistance, blocking resistance, etc., even when it contains an emulsifier and even when no crosslinking groups are introduced into it.
CONSTITUTION: The coating compsn. is prepd. by adding a silicone compd. such as a polyether-modified silicone to a water-base emulsion contg. two-phase- structured polymer particles comprising a soft polymer phase having a glass transition point of 30°C or lower and a hard polymer phase having a glass transition point higher than 30°C. The particles may have a core/shell structure. The compsn. pref. contains an age resister (e.g. an ultraviolet absorber), a colorant, or an org. solvent, and is suitable for coating a porous substrate, e.g. concrete, because if forms a coating film excellent in adhesive properties, water resistance, etc., even when it contains a large amt. of a surfactant and even when no crosslinking groups are introduced into it.
