Abstract:
To obtain a coating material for protecting images, particularly images to be formed with a water base ink.
A composition with improved water resistance which does not cause crazing when dried and formed into films comprises a colloidal silica- containing acrylic resin emulsion and a compound represented by formula (1): R1O(A-O)nR2 (wherein A is either one of -CH2CH2-, -CH2CH2CH2- or a group represented by formula (2); (n) is an integer of 1-3: R1 and R2 may be the same or different and each a hydrogen atom, a 1-4C alkyl group, a 1-4C acyl group or a glycidyl group, provided that R1 and R2 are not simultaneously hydrogen atoms).
