To provide a colorant which is suitable for inkjet recording and excellent in water resistance, light resistance, and compatibility with a resin; a water-base inkjet recording ink prepared by using the colorant and excellent in light resistance and storage stability; and a water-base ink which, as an inkjet recording ink, forms a high-quality image free of blur and gives a recorded image excellent in water resistance.
A colorant represented by general formula (1) is contained in a water-base inkjet recording ink being an emulsion mainly comprising a water-insoluble colorant, water, and a resin. In formula (1), R1-R3 are each H or an optionally substituted alkyl or aryl; R4 is H, a halogen atom, or an optionally substituted alkyl; and R5 is H or an optionally substituted alkyl.
