Title:
WATER-BASE RESIN DISPERSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3513782
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-base resin dispersion which is excellent in stability and adhesion to a substrate, exhibits excellent vibration-damping properties in a wide temp. range, and can form a soft film excellent in resistance to chipping and low-temp. impact by dispersing three kinds of specific fine polymer particles respectively having specified glass transition points in a water-base medium in a specified ratio.
SOLUTION: This dispersion contains fine particles A, fine particles B, and fine particles C in a wt. ratio of particles A to the sum of particles B and C of (30:70)-(90:10). Particles A comprise 50-90wt.% cores formed from a carboxylated acrylic polymer having a glass transition point (Tg) of -10 to 50°C and 50-10wt.% shells formed from a polymer having a Tg lower than -10°C. Particles B comprise 50-90wt.% cores formed from an acrylic polymer having a Tg of -10 to 50°C, the Tg being lower than that of the core polymer of particles A by at least 10°C, and 50-10wt.% shells formed from a polymer having a Tg of -10°C or lower. Particles C comprises a polymer having a Tg of -30 to 50°C, the Tg being different from that of the core polymer of particles A by at least 10°C. The compounding ratio of A is 30-90wt.% and that of B+C is 70-10wt.%.
