To provide an aqueous coating composition which contains a reduced amount of hydrophilic solvents such as polyhydric alcohols and glycol ethers, has good coating film drying properties under low temperatures, does not cause cracks even by well-designed uneven finishing or by a very small difference in coating film thickness at the time of application, and has good workability without causing a dried film on the coating surface even when applied in the summer when temperature is high.
The aqueous coating composition comprises an acrylic emulsion, an aggregate having a hydroxy group on the surface thereof, a trialkoxysilane having a vinyl group, a pigment, a filler, a thickener, and a film-forming auxiliary agent, wherein the composition has a solid content of 50 wt.% or more and less than 80 wt.%.
